For your certification interview, please have the following information in hand

Have the following business background information ready

  • Legal name of the applicant (owner applying on behalf of the   business)

  • Legal business name and trade name/DBA, if any

  • Physical address of the premises

  • Mailing address, if different from premises address

  • Phone number for the business

  • Website for the commercial CBD business, if any

  • Employer identification number (FEIN or EIN), individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN or TIN)

  • Contact information for the owner who will serve as the primary contact person (name, title, phone number, and email address)

  • Business's organizational structure, such Limited Liability (LLC), sole proprietorship, trust, or corporation

  • The seller’s permit number issued by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration.

Ensure you know the following information about your product and its manufacturing process

  • Legal name of the manufacturing plant 

  • Physical address of the premises

  • Mailing address, if different from premises address

  • Phone number for the producing/manufacturing business

  • Website for the commercial manufacturing business, if any

  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility (or other equivalent audited process) Proof of Certification

  • Contact Name of the person responsible for your product at that company.

  • Contact Name of the CEO/president of the manufacturing company if different than above

  • Most recent COA of that product

  • A copy of the label applied on the product, showing ingredients, front and back of the label to view information, dosage and product claim.

  • If any of the products and ingredients used in the manufacturing of your product are not from or managed by the manufacturer, the same information will be required for other companies involved in your supply chain, including the outer packaging material such as bottles, containers, etc.

  • Proof that Hemp used in the extraction process is from either USA, Canada or compliant countries and respect the USA Farm Bill standards.

  • Laboratory where products are usually tested with all contact information. 

  • Be ready, in case needed, to supply the extraction method and solvent list used in the process of extracting the cannabinoid used in your process.

The following steps will be required when your application is confirmed.

  • Read and accept the terms and conditions

  • Pay the $600 application fee. If you pass, a second step of certification, the $1500 testing and label review will only be charged if the first application is accepted.

  • Upload requested documents
